Hallbrook Hurricanes Team Code of Conduct

In an effort to maintain an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all Hallbrook Hurricane swim and dive participants, the following code of conduct will apply.

By signing this document, we signify that we understand that swimmer/diver behavior reflects not only upon the individual, but upon the team and country club. We further understand:

1. It is a privilege to participate in the Hallbrook Hurricanes Swim & Dive Program.

2. Good sportsmanship will be the first priority of all swimmers, divers, parents and guests.

3. Respect, care and consideration should be shown to others (coaches, teammates, etc.) at all times so as to ensure safe and effective training sessions.

4. Parents and swimmers/divers may speak with coaches in private about any issue. All conversations are expected to be professional and courteous and should not occur during practice times. Parents are not allowed to interrupt coaches during practices or private lessons; this takes away from the attention and safety of the swimmer or diver.

5. Swimmers, divers, parents and guests are expected at all times to display proper respect and sportsmanship toward the host team and its property, all coaches, officials, meet administrators, fellow competitors and spectators.

6. Coaches may not transport swimmers and divers to practices, meets, or any swim & dive team activities/functions.

7. Swimmers, divers, their families and guests will be held financially responsible for any intentional damage to Hallbrook property or the property of any Swim Association country club, its members, coaches and staff during practices, activities, parties or meets.

8. Hallbrook is not responsible for the loss of personal property or damage, while attending swim and dive practice.

9. Swimmers and divers will show up for practice on time, ready and willing to participate. At the beginning of practice or a meet, swimmers and divers will only enter the water when instructed to do so and in an orderly fashion to ensure safety in the pool.

10. Any disagreements with a coach, committee member or an official will be addressed in a private setting and in a manner that will not distract from practice or a meet.

11. Use or possession of tobacco, alcoholic beverages or drug substances by any swimmer or diver is unacceptable and strictly forbidden.

12. As social media is used as a form of communication, as a Hallbrook swimmer or diver, social media must always be used with respect for others and have a high level of decorum.

13. There may be other acts or conduct not provided for above that is detrimental to the image or reputation of Hallbrook Country Club and will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct.

14. Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in a temporary suspension from team practices, activities, parties or meets and/or suspension from the team.
